The Empire of France

Infantry 1815 Pattern - Imperial Guard

The 1st Grenadiers and the 1st Chasseurs of the Guard each received two flags with their eagles on 1st June 1815. These flags were similar to the 1812 pattern and were 80cm square. However, there was no dedication to the Emperor or unit designation on the obverse; instead there appear battle honours. On the reverse appear city names which were out of historical sequence if meant to be more battle honours.
