TURN 3

VILLARS: Prepares to cross the neckar river to attack Anhalt Dessau who beats a hasty retreat to Nurneberg. Villars declines to chase him and returns to Heidelberg and begins an immediate siege. Only a 10 days into the siege - Heidelberg garrison sues for peace - requesting honors of war - which are granted and the defenders are allowed to march to Philipsburg.

MARSIN: Still smarting from his defeat at Weissenberg Marsin is attempting to reorganize his demoralized army. He was unable to mobilize his army this last two weeks and remains at his current location.

TALLARD: In a brilliant strategic move - or by fortuitous accident, Tallard has managed to sneak past the allies in the south, and travelling up the lower bank of the Danube has reached Munich and has apparently engaged the Elector in a plan to invade Austria. The armies of Tallard and the Elector are unhindered and marching eastwards.

THE ELECTOR: Emboldened by the arrival of Tallard, the Elector has pulled up camp and is moving his entire army towards Passau.

MARLBOROUGH: After the great victory against Marsin, Marlborough has fallen back on his supply lines. Finding three armies in less than 100 square miles after the last battle was too much for the supply system, and Marlborough lost some strength due to attrition.

EUGENE: After the great victory against Marsin, Eugene has fallen back on his supply lines. Finding three armies in less than 100 square miles after the last battle was too much for the supply system, and Eugene lost some strength due to attrition.

BADEN: Finding three armies in less than 100 square miles after the last battle was too much for the supply system, and Baden lost some strength due to attrition. Unable to move due to the congestion of so many men near Weissenberg, Baden stayed behind and began a siege. The small fortress was pummeled into submission after two weeks of bombardment.

ANHALT DESSAU: Dessau's army pulled back eastwards and is camped close to Nurenberg.
